Stage 2: Information Session
Each prospective student that meets the minimum eligibility requirements is invited to an initial information session, during which staff members describe the YouthBuild PCS admissions process, and various program components. Prospective students must be on time for Information Sessions. Late arrivals will NOT be admitted.
Stage 3: Mental Toughness Training
After attending an Information Session, prospective students will be invited to return for "Mental Toughness Training," an intensive, one-week orientation process designed to introduce individuals to the YouthBuild model of learning (and prepare them to step back into the classroom).
Preparation is achieved through a series of workshops, leadership exercises and team-building activities. During Mental Toughness, students must adhere to a series of rules and guidelines to complete the application process. Students must be on time each day of Mental Toughness. While YouthBuild PCS does not discriminate against otherwise eligible applicants, the school's charter does permit it to reject the application of any applicant who fails to demonstrate punctuality and motivation to attend the school.
Required Documentation
All applicants will be required to provide all necessary personal documentation prior to enrollment (in addition to other required paperwork).
Enrollment Lottery
If there are more prospective students than there are openings available in the school, then YouthBuild PCS will use a lottery to determine which of those applicants are enrolled. Applicants not selected in the lottery will be placed on a wait list in the order they are drawn.
