Be a part of our students’ success! Volunteer at YBPCS.

There are many ways to get involved and support YouthBuild PCS. We are currently looking for tutors, teachers' aides, career coaches, and programmatic or specialized volunteers. If you have an interest in volunteering as a tutor, please fill out our initial application here. If you are interested in other types of volunteer opportunities please submit the form below. Thank you for your interest! If you have questions regarding becoming a volunteer, please email Kate.Salasky@youthbuildpcs.org.

Tutor

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours once a week
Opportunity: YBPCS is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic tutors to work one-on-one with YBPCS students as they prepare for GED subject tests in math, science, English/language arts, and social studies. The Tutoring Coordinator will provide introductory training, tutoring materials, and ongoing coaching and support to volunteers. Likewise, YBPCS tutors commit to maintaining a set tutoring schedule, communicating in advance of any absences, and tracking student progress with the support of the Tutor Coordinator. All tutors must have a high school degree or GED. Tutors must complete a background check and provide negative TB test results before beginning service with the school.

Career Coaches

Time Commitment: Schedules vary by coach availability and structure of support (1-2 hour weekly or monthly sessions)
Opportunity: Help our students acquire jobs, get into vocational programs, and attend college! Use your job skills to mentor the next generation in preparing for college and career by searching for best fit jobs and schools, writing resumes, cover letters and applications, and navigating the interview process. The YBPCS’ Transitions department will work closely with Career Coaches, assisting with scheduling times with students, planning activities, and evaluating impact. All volunteers must pass a background check and provide negative TB test results before beginning service. All career coaches must have high school degree or GED and at least 1-2 years of professional experience.
